In the fourth quarter of 2020, Latin America's consumer finance applications on the iOS platform experienced varying trends in downloads and weekly active users. Detailed insights from Sensor Tower provide a closer look at the performance of these top apps.
Nubank - Conta e Cartão maintained a strong presence with downloads peaking at approximately 102K in mid-December before dipping to around 67K by year-end. Weekly active users showed a steady uptrend, rising from 3.6M at the start of the quarter to nearly 4.1M in early December, and then slightly declining to 3.9M by the close of 2020.
Mercado Pago: cuenta digital, another heavy hitter, saw its downloads surge to about 121K in late November, but ended the quarter with downloads around 63K. Active users reached a peak of 2.37M in the same late November week, subsequently decreasing to 1.92M by the end of December.
For PicPay: Conta, Pix e Cartão, there was a notable spike in downloads, reaching an impressive 253K in early December, a significant increase from the 48K at the quarter's start. Weekly active users climbed from 1.14M to a high of 1.45M in early December, before falling to 1.2M by the quarter's end.
CAIXA showed a gradual increase in downloads through the quarter, with a moderate peak at 61K in mid-December, and active users saw a high of 1.97M in late November, ending the quarter at around 1.81M.
Lastly, Banco Santander Brasil presented a steady download rate, peaking at 32K in late November and concluding the quarter with 20K. Weekly active users peaked at 1.21M in late November and decreased to just over 1.09M by the end of December.
